The interior hinged doors in our standard plans are hollow core six panel colonial. Several other selections of panels are available from all suppliers, from smooth to shaker. Closet doors and other applications where wide access is indicated are bifold so that the door swing does not impinge upon room area. Panels typically match the hinged doors.
Interior doors are sized according to nature of egress, an example of which would be a laundry room. The door must be wide enough to allow for installation of appliances. This small detail must not be overlooked.
Custom designs will typically employ the same door type unless solid doors are desired. Many will opt for two panel bi-swing doors in closets, but this selection will affect the placement of furniture and ease of access in some cases. Glazed doors will often complement an interior design, and pocket doors are a good choice in some applications where door swing interferes with a hallway or other area. Examples of custom interior door applications may be found in Design Ideas.
